Newtongrange Star can confirm that Under 20s management team, led by Greg Woloszyn, will leave the club at the end of the season.

Everyone at the club would like to thank Greg, Marc and John for their hard work, commitment and dedication throughout their time at Newtongrange Star. Their final match in charge will be the upcoming cup final, giving the team the opportunity to finish their time at the club on a high.

The relationship between the Under 20s and First Team management has been excellent throughout, helping to create a strong pathway and positive environment for players progressing through the club.

We wish Greg and his management team all the very best for the future.

Newtongrange Star FC are recruiting a new coaching team for our hugely successful Under 20s East of Scotland Development side.

It is of key strategic importance to the club to have a strong development pathway feeding directly into our 1st team.

Nearly fifty of our U20s have been part of our 1st team East of Scotland match day squads since 2022, and former U20 players make up a significant percentage of our current 1st team squad.

Training takes place on Mondays 6.30pm at Newtongrange Star astro and Wednesdays 7.30pm at Newbattle High School astro. Home games are played at Portobello High School astro on Friday evenings.

The main focus of the role is to recruit and develop the best young talent in the local area. To help young footballers develop all aspects of their game, to support them as young men on and off the field, and to prepare them for the next step on their football and life journey.

Applicants must have, or be actively working towards, the SFA 1.3 coaching award, as well as the other relevant SFA coaching awards and licences required at development level. The successful applicant will also be subject to a PVG check via Disclosure Scotland.

Applicants must have a coached young footballers, and ideally would have a good handle on the local youth football scene. They would also have to proactively scout and recruit players for the team.

The successful candidate would work closely with the 1st team manager and coaching staff. This may also include help covering coaching sessions or on match days.

To register your interest please email our first team manager Paul Milligan by Monday 25 May at paul@newtongrangestarfc.co.uk giving full details of your background, experience and why you would like to be considered for this post.
