Craig Reid Completes Permanent Transfer

We are delighted to announce that defender Craig Reid has now joined on a permanent deal from Berwick Rangers. Craig re-joined Star last month on an initial loan deal and has been an impressive performer since coming back to the club. Having agreed a fee with Berwick Rangers, Craig now completes his move and signs a contract until the end of next season.

Thoughts of Manager, Chris King – ‘From my point of view signing Craig is a huge statement. Craig still had another year to go at Berwick and after having him in for the last couple of weeks we knew we had to get a deal done to keep him at the club. He is enjoying his football at Newtongrange and it’s important he plays as much as possible after missing games through injury. Craig has bought into where we want the club to go and by signing him permanently shows that the club are certainly moving in the right direction. We have been delighted by his level of performance and how big an impact he has had across the whole club since arriving last month’

Thoughts of Craig Reid – ‘I’m delighted to sign for Newtongrange Star on a permanent basis from Berwick. After a short loan period and speaking to the management about my future and the direction the club want to go, I was keen to make it permanent for the rest of the season and beyond. My aim short term is to help keep the club up and kick on next year with playing as many games as I can’
